Dubai Frame is the latest attraction in the emirate - and it's an attraction like no other. The giant picture frame is 150 metres high and has an observation deck at the top.
Dubai Frame is positioned in such a way that the view of the city's new landmarks, such as Burj Khalifa and downtown, are framed when looking in one direction. In the opposite direction, the building frames the older parts of the city, Bur Dubai, Karama and Dubai Creek.
The frame is 150 metres high and 93 metres wide and cost around SEK 370 million to build. The façade's decorations, over 15,000 square metres of gold-coloured stainless steel, are inspired by the logo of the Expo 2020 world exhibition to be held in Dubai.
The attraction opened its doors to visitors in January 2018.
Dubai Frame - observation deck and museum
The upper part of Dubai Frame has a walkway with an observation deck where visitors can enjoy the view of Dubai. The floor is made of glass, so you can see 150 metres straight down to the ground.
On the ground floor is an exhibition showing the city's transformation from sleepy fishing village to bustling world metropolis.
Bringing food and drink is not allowed, but there is a café on the observation floor.
Tickets to Dubai Frame
One thing we really like is that the entrance fee, unlike many other attractions in Dubai, is not very expensive.
The ticket price is 50 dirhams (about 110 crowns) for adults and 20 dirhams (about 45 crowns) for children between 3 and 12 years old. Visitors under three and over 60 go in free.
The easiest way to buy tickets is online, www.dubaiframe.ae. Pre-purchase is recommended to be sure to get the right day and time, although you can buy the ticket on the spot as well.
If you are visiting Dubai Frame on a Friday or Saturday, when it is a weekend in Dubai, you should definitely book in advance.
The attraction is open all year round, from 09.00-21.00, but times may vary slightly during major holidays and Ramadan.
