Police cars in DubaiWe already knew that Dubai is a safe place with a low crime rate. Now comes statistics that show exactly how well the city, and the country, stand up in an international comparison.

In a new report, the World Economic Forum ranks the world's safest countries to visit.

Statistics show that the United Arab Emirates, which includes Dubai, is the safest destination in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Not surprising, perhaps.

More impressively, the UAE is the second safest country in the world in terms of tourist safety and security.

The only country considered safer is Finland, which tops the rankings. Sweden was ranked 16th.

  4. Oman
  5. Hong Kong
  6. Singapore
  7. Norway
  8. Switzerland
  9. Rwanda
  10. Qatar
  11. Portugal
  12. Luxembourg

Which are the least safe countries to visit, you may ask? At the bottom of the list we find Pakistan, El Salvador, Yemen and Colombia.
