Next time you land in Dubai, start surfing right away. Airports have been upgraded with free - and fast - wifi.
When Dubai Airports surveyed what travellers expect from an international airport, one of the answers was: free internet.
Said and done. The Wi-Fi networks at both Dubai International and the new Dubai World Central have now been significantly upgraded with a free network that is also faster and easier than before, according to a press release from Dubai Airports.
More than 6,000 WiFi points have been installed, speeds have been increased to 5 gigabits per second and thanks to a new landing page, you can connect with just one click.
- As the world's largest international airport, we are at the heart of many journeys around the world today. When our passengers arrive in Dubai after a long journey, they expect to be able to keep in touch with friends and family," says Michael Ibbotson, Chief Technology Officer at Dubai Airports, adding:
- To make this possible, we have invested in a world-class WiFi network for the 83 million passengers who use our airports this year alone.
